News: Tender Opportunity - Extra Care, Central Lancashire
Expressions of Interest are sought from CQC registered providers who are also registered with Lancashire County Council as a Preferred Provider for the provision of care within Extra Care Housing Schemes at
Ainscough Brook, Preston
Bannister Brook and Greenwood Court, Leyland
These will be offered as two separate lots. The contract value is not yet finalised but the contract is offered for the provision of a flexible core support service providing the key elements of extra care housing. The number of extra care residents will also fluctuate depending on scheme and commissioning requirements.
The contract period is for 12 months with the option to extend annually for a maximum contract duration of five years. Citizens who have additional assessed personal and/or social care needs will each have a personal budget and will have the option of choosing the core support winning bidder as their provider.
The Council envisages that a number of tenants are likely to choose this option, provided that the services they are being offered are high quality, flexible and personalised.
Providers must be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of delivering personal social care in Extra Care Housing
- A commitment to partnership working
- A commitment to working with people in a person centred way that maximises their independence and connection to their community
- An understanding of the opportunities that personal budgets offer to the people who receive them
- Experience of support planning with budget holders
